How do I block or ignore another player in The Elder Scrolls Online?

Updated 07/15/2020 10:29 AM

To block unwanted player contacts, players should follow the steps below for their platform of choice:

PC/Mac

There are two ways to add a player to the ignore/block list for The Elder Scrolls Online on PC/Mac: it can be done from the chat window itself or from the Social menu.

  • Chat window: Right-click on the player's character name and select Ignore/Block on either the character name or the UserID.
  • Social menu: Press [O] to open the Contacts panel and click on the crossed circle icon on the right side of the window to open the Ignored list. From here, players can add a character's name or a player's UserID directly to their Ignored list. If players add a UserID  to their Ignored list, all characters associated with that UserID will also be ignored. Players can also ignore existing friends by right-clicking on their UserID from the Friends tab within the Contacts panel [O].

Xbox One

  1. To block a player in game, players should approach the character, hold the button, and use the [Left Stick] to navigate in the radial menu. From the radial menu, choose View Gamercard.
  2. Go to Report or Block
  3. Select Block
  4. Confirm by pressing [A]

PlayStation 4

  1. To block a player in game, players should approach the character, hold the  button, and use the [Left Stick] to navigate in the radial menu. From the radial menu, choose View Profile.

Additionally, we would like to remind our players that use of the voice chat options in console versions of ESO is governed by the Xbox.com Service Agreement and/or the SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) Terms of Service.
